The Pentagon: The number of US forces in Afghanistan has reached more than 4,000 soldiers

Baghdad The Pentagon announced that the number of US forces in Afghanistan has reached 4,500 soldiers today, Tuesday.

“We have taken the correct measures to work safely at Kabul airport,” said Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby, in a press briefing today, noting that “the field Commander of the US forces in Afghanistan is tasked with communicating with the Taliban and Turkish forces there.”

He added, “We have not faced any threats from the Taliban at the present time,” noting that “the Taliban will not launch any offensive operations against our forces located at the airport in the capital, Kabul.”
