The Popular Mobilization Forces Condemn The US Attack On Its Forces In Western Anbar

Baghdad The Popular Mobilization Forces condemned the American attack on its forces in western Anbar.

The Popular Mobilization said in a statement, “At 2: am, Monday, the American aircraft targeted three points stationed for the Popular Mobilization Forces (Brigades 14 and 46) at a distance of 13 km inside the Iraqi border in al-Qaim district, west of Anbar Governorate, and this attack resulted in the death of 4 martyrs. They were performing their usual duty to prevent the infiltration of ISIS terrorist elements from Syria into Iraq as part of the official duty of the Popular Mobilization Forces under the Joint Operations Command and they were not involved in any activity against the foreign presence in Iraq, which the Popular Mobilization Authority had previously clarified its position on repeatedly.

It reiterated that the Popular Mobilization points that were bombed do not include any warehouses or the like, contrary to the American allegations that it reported in order to justify the crime of targeting the Popular Mobilization fighters.

It added that as we condemn in the strongest terms this heinous attack on our forces, we extend our sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the dear martyrs, stressing that we will retain the legal right to respond to these attacks and hold the perpetrators accountable on Iraqi soil.

It stressed that this attack comes within the framework of weakening Iraq, its security forces, and the popular mobilization that America and the rest of the world witnessed in defeating terrorism and removing its danger and evil from the whole world, as well as in the interest of strengthening terrorist groups.

It also added that this attack represents an attack on the sovereignty of Iraq, especially as it coincides with the great successes represented by the great parade of the Popular Mobilization Forces on the occasion of its founding, which was sponsored by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the holding of the tripartite summit in the capital Baghdad yesterday.

The Popular Mobilization praised the positions of the Iraqi government and its keenness to resolve the issue of removing foreign forces from Iraq in a way that achieves the country’s full sovereignty over its lands and airspace.
