Traffic Directorate bans motorbikes from driving on highways due to its dangers and exploitation in terrorist operations

Baghdad The Traffic Directorate issued new instructions that strictly prohibit driving all two-wheeled and three-wheeled motorcycles (tik-tok, and all-wheeled motorcycles) due to their dangers and exploitation in terrorist and criminal operations.

A statement by the Traffic Directorate stated, “in accordance with the provisions of Article 47 / second / b / of Traffic Law No. (8) for the year 2019, we decided to issue the following statement:

1- It is strictly forbidden to drive all two-wheeled and three-wheeled motorcycles (tik-tok and six-wheelers of all kinds), registered and unregistered in highway traffic circles, due to their dangers and exploitation in terrorist and criminal operations, and that their roaming is within the boundaries of residential areas.

2-The violator shall be punished with a fine of (100,000) one hundred thousand dinars in accordance with the provisions of Article (25) second (a) of Traffic Law No. (8) for the year 2019.

3- This statement shall be effective as of the date of its issuance.
