Two Shells Hit A US Base In Al-Omar Oil Field In Syria

Baghdad Two shells fell on a base of the American forces in Al-Omar field in Deir Ezzor in Syria.

Farhad Shami, director of the media center of the “Syrian Democratic Forces”, said that the two rockets of unknown origin fell on the western side of al-Omar field in Deir Ezzor, which SDF forces take as advanced bases to pursue ISIS cells.

Farhad Shami confirmed that no casualties were recorded among the members of the “Syrian Democratic Forces”.

Activists in Syria said that explosions were heard in Al-Omar oil field, the largest base of the international coalition in Syria, as a result of missiles that landed in the field’s residences, and were launched from the countryside of Al-Mayadin city in Deir Ezzor countryside, west of the Euphrates River.

On June 28, the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) announced that its units had been subjected to missile attacks, which it described as dangerous, in the vicinity of Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor Governorate in eastern Syria.

The media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces published a statement about the missile attacks in Deir Ezzor, in which it said that advanced military bases to fight ISIS affiliated with the “SDF” were subjected to “serious missile attacks”, in Al-Omar field area in Deir Ezzor countryside, and indicated that the damage was limited to Just material losses.

A US base in Al-Omar field (the largest oil field in Syria) was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades, after US air strikes on sites affiliated with the “Popular Mobilization” in Albu Kamal countryside, which is affiliated with Deir Ezzor, on the border between Iraq and Syria, and the Syrian “SANA” news agency reported that the American targeting resulted in the death of a child and the injury of 3 civilians.
