Baghdad The new Coronavirus is still spreading in various parts of the world, despite vaccination campaigns against the virus that causes the Covid-19.
The latest statistics from Johns Hopkins University in the United States showed that: The total number of people infected with the virus, in more than 210 countries and regions in the world since the first cases of infection were discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019, reached 204,671,741.
With the continued spread of the virus, especially the Delta strain, which appeared in India first, the total number of deaths resulting from the virus reached nearly 4.5 million deaths.
As for the countries that have recorded the most infections with the virus since its appearance in China in late 2019, it is the United States, which has recorded more than 36 million confirmed infections, including 617,000 deaths.
India came second with more than 32 million infections, including 430,000 deaths.
Although Brazil recorded nearly 20 million confirmed cases of the virus, it came second in terms of deaths, as it recorded more than 564,000 deaths.
Iraq continues to lead the number of confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus in the Arab world, as it recorded more than 1.7 million infections, and it also leads the Arab countries in terms of deaths, which are close to 20 thousand cases.
Jordan came second with about 780,000 infections, including more than 10 thousand deaths, while Morocco came third with about 720 thousand infections and 10,607 deaths.
