PM Discusses With The Head Of Border Ports Authority Several Files Related To The Work Of The Border Outlets

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, discussed with the head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, several files related to the work of border crossings.

During the meeting, Al-Waeli reviewed, according to a statement by the authority, the achievements achieved by the authority’s staff through exercising its role in oversight, supervision and control, which resulted in an increase in government revenues achieved for the departments operating in the ports, as well as an increase in quality control of violations at all border crossings, and topics that serve and advance the reality of the situation and develop its performance in line with the government reform program.

For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi extended his thanks and appreciation to all the workers in the Border Ports Authority in appreciation of their great role in imposing the prestige of the state and controlling performance at the ports, praising and supporting the port file, considering it one of the successful files in government performance. This was evident in the authority’s performance by ensuring the protection of the agricultural product and industrial.

The statement indicated that it was stressed the importance of the commitment of the departments operating in the border crossings to work within the spaces and job description assigned to them within the laws in force for this and not to intersect between them administratively and technically, and the application of Law 30 of 2016 and Cabinet Resolution 84 of 2020.

The statement explained that during the meeting, the issue of developing the infrastructure for border crossings was raised by the concerned governorates, through what is allocated for this from 20% of the governorates’ revenues within the federal budget.
