The High Commission for Human Rights condemned the assassination of the civil activist Ihab Al-Wazni in Karbala Governorate, noting that it comes as a continuation of the series of assassinations against activists and people with a free word. In a statement, that the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / received a copy of it, said that the High Commission for Human Rights expressed its deep regret at what happened, confirming the weakness of the security system in protecting activists, which forced many of them to leave Iraq, and the rest of them became prey to these tragic events. The Commission called on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to take appropriate measures to protect activists, media professionals, bloggers and people with a free speech, to bring the perpetrators to justice and to enhance security and intelligence efforts, and for investigations to be urgent and to be announced directly to the public opinion, and not to be like its predecessors, such as the death of journalist Hisham Al-Hashemi (may God have mercy on him). / End Source: National Iraqi News Agency
