A delegation from the Union of Arab Communities discusses the most prominent outstanding issues of the Arab communities residing in Turkey

Istanbul A delegation from the Federation of Arab Communities discussed with officials of the Immigration Department in the Turkish capital, Ankara, the most prominent outstanding issues of the Arab communities residing in Turkey.

A statement issued by the Union today, Monday, stated that the delegation met with officials of several departments in the Immigration Department, during which they discussed many outstanding issues regarding the Arab communities in general and the Palestinian communities in particular.

The statement, quoting the head of the Federation, Muhammad Zaki Al-Hams, added that one of the most important decisions that were discussed and agreed upon is solving the problems of outstanding residency for all nationalities by submitting files directly to the Migration Department in Istanbul and Ankara.

It was agreed to grant a number of Palestinians permanent residence according to some conditions set by the Immigration Department.

The file of the identities of the Syrians, what is known as “Kamlik” / temporary residence / and the file of family reunification for Syrians who own kamlik residing in various Turkish cities, were also discussed.

Ways of facilitating travel for the Kamlik campaign across cities, especially the cities of Istanbul and Hatay, were discussed, in addition to granting humanitarian residence to Syrian passport holders without considering the passport’s validity period after the passport’s expiry date.

The outstanding files of the Egyptian community were also followed up
