Amara The Maysan Police Directorate announced, today, Tuesday, the arrest of a red-handed drug gang, south of the governorate.
The Directorate said in a statement that based on accurate intelligence and field follow-up, the Anti-narcotics and psychotropic substances police detachments were able to arrest a drug-trafficking gang consisting of (five) people residing in the Samawah governorate, including three women, during a tight ambush on the “Abdullah Ben Ali, ” road after obtaining judicial approvals.
The statement added, “the defendants were arrested in flagrante delicto, and they had in their possession (2 kilograms) of the narcotic crystal, and tools used for drug use.”
He pointed out: “the write down of their statements in a fundamental way and referring them to the competent judiciary.
