A Foreign Ministry Official Discusses With The Syrian Ambassador Developments In The Region And Solving Problems By Peaceful Means

Baghdad The Acting Head of the Arab Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Osama Mahdi Ghanem, discussed with Syrian Ambassador Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah the developments in the region and the importance of achieving stability and solving problems by peaceful means.

A Foreign Ministry statement said today that, during the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Baghdad and Damascus in the interest of the two peoples.

The head of the Arab department stressed the necessity of coordinating positions and cooperation between the two countries in order to solve Arab problems by adopting political solutions and not to interfere in the affairs of states, stressing Iraq’s firm position regarding Syria’s return to the Arab League.

For his part, the Syrian ambassador praised Iraq’s supportive stances to resolve the Syrian crisis peacefully, expressing his government’s desire to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in order to achieve stability.
