Baghdad The leader of the former MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Dana Al-Kateb, confirmed that: The issue of the admissibility of the party’s candidate for the post of President of the Republic is a relative thing.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the issue of the party’s candidate for the position is not up for discussion, especially since the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has two candidates for the position, Barham Salih and Latif Rashid, and it is illogical if we asked the union about the acceptability of our candidate with them.
Al-Kateb added that: its acceptability to others is a relative matter that may be acceptable to some and not to others.. It is acceptable to the majority coalition, which includes the Sadrist bloc, the Democratic Party and the Alliance of Sovereignty.
The Democratic Party had nominated today the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Reber Ahmed, for the post of President of the Republic.
