The Director General of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rabah Al-Rabah announced the participation of 330 Kuwaiti companies seeking to know what is presented in the investment opportunities in Iraq, explaining that the Kuwaiti companies represent the various sectors of the investment bodies, banks and contractors and specialists in the field of energy.

Rabah said in a press statement that the chamber will hold a special meeting on Sunday with the Kuwaiti private sector to inform him of the investment opportunities available in Iraq, which will be presented at the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.

Rabah added that this meeting precedes the general conference organized by the Chamber in cooperation with the National Investment Commission in Iraq, the World Bank and Kuwait Fund for Economic Development to present investment opportunities in Iraq under the title Invest in Iraq.

Rabah added that the Chamber considered it appropriate to inform the Kuwaiti private sector of what will be presented at the Conference (Invest in Iraq) before the appointment through a joint meeting at the headquarters of the Chamber to get acquainted with the investment projects in Iraq.

The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry is scheduled to hold an investment conference in Iraq next Tuesday with the participation of a large number of international companies representing 50 countries, where the Iraqi side will offer investment opportunities available to the private sector.

The “Invest in Iraq” conference is part of the Kuwait International Conference on Iraq Reconstruction, which will be held from the 12th to the 14th of this month, with an estimated value of investments of about 85 billion dollars with the support of the World Bank.

The Kuwait International Conference on Iraq Reconstruction will be held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and will include a number of meetings including experts from national and international financial institutions, private sector investors and civil society organizations.

This will be followed by another meeting of Foreign Ministers on the third day, chaired by the State of Kuwait with Iraq, in partnership with the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank.

This conference is the first of its kind as it comes out of the State of Kuwait to achieve the security and stability of Iraq and its developmental start to the reconstruction of Iraq and to achieve the active participation of the international community in all sectors, whether governmental or sovereign funds or the private sector or civil society organizations active in the field Relief and development.

The conference aims to mobilize funding from various sources to help Iraq meet the requirements of reconstruction and development in the post-so-called Islamic State Organization, and reaffirm the national and international commitment to support the reconstruction and development efforts of Iraq, especially the liberated areas.
