A Leader In ISIS And One Of His Aides Arrested In Nineveh

Baghdad The intelligence agency arrested a leader of the terrorist organization ISIS and one of his aides in Nineveh.

A statement by the directorate stated: “The agency’s detachments were able to arrest two wanted terrorists in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 / terrorism, because they belonged to ISIS terrorist gangs. Through interrogations with them, the first terrorist admitted that he worked in the so-called Diwan al-Jund al-Ghuraba Brigade and participated in several operations against the popular mobilization in Makhoul Mountains, then he assumed the position of the so-called administrative battalion of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab and participated in the battle of old Mosul area against the security forces that liberated the city, and in 2019 he returned to Baghdad for the purpose of surveying the situation, collecting information and carrying out terrorist operations there.

It added, “The second terrorist worked in the so-called (Hisbah) Islamic Police Bureau, and then was chosen to participate in terrorist operations in the Makhoul Mountains. After the operations ended, he returned to the city of Mosul and was assigned to fight the security forces participating in the operations to liberate Mosul.”
