Amara  Maysan police arrested, on Friday, a member of a criminal gang specialized in robbery, in a security operation in the southwest of the governorate.

The Police Directorate said in a statement: “The detachments of Al-Maimuna Anti-Crime Division and Sayed Ahmed Al-Rifai Police Station, with accurate intelligence information, were able to arrest a member of a gang specialized in robbery operations during a security operation in Sayed Ahmed Al-Rifai district of the aforementioned district.”

It added, that the accused confessed during the investigation to carrying out a robbery of a citizen and stole an amount of his money, in partnership with a member of his criminal group.

It indicated that his statements were initially recorded and arrested in accordance with Article (443) of the Penal Code
