A parliamentary committee discusses with the Institute of International Law the file of the displaced

Baghdad The Parliamentary Committee on Migration and Displacement, headed by MP Sherif Suleiman, hosted a delegation from the Institute of International Law and Human Rights to discuss the file of Yazidi survivors.

The Media Department of the House of Representatives stated in a statement that: “During the hosting, the file of the displaced and the problems of obtaining their official identities were discussed, in addition to the difficulties facing the application of laws, especially with regard to the law of emergency support for food security, in which the House of Representatives guaranteed financial allocations to Yazidi survivors, but it faces difficulties in implementation.

It added, “The law of the Yazidi survivors and the work of the committee concerned with receiving their requests were discussed.”

The head of the Migration Committee stated: “The committee will host the administration of the Directorate of Survivors to listen to its views and stand on the problems of implementing the law.”
