A security operation to track down ISIS remnants in the Hamrin mountain range / Expanded

Baquba The Popular Mobilization Forces launched a five-axes security operation to hunt down ISIS remnants in the Hamrin mountain range, northeast of Al-Adhaim district in Diyala Governorate.

Operations Commander Talib al-Moussawi said in a statement: “The operation aims to track down ISIS remnants and destroy its hideouts in the Hamrin mountain range, in the area between Baghdad-Kirkuk road and Ain Laila road-Qara Taba district, with five main axes.”

Al-Moussawi said: “The operation is being carried out with land units due to the ruggedness of the area and to avoid the explosive devices that the enemy has planted on all axes of advance,” stressing: “The operation is proceeding well towards the predetermined goals.”
