A source confirmed to NINA that a security meeting will be held between the army and the Peshmerga forces in Khanaqin to form a joint operations room

Baquba An official source announced that a joint security meeting will be held in Khanaqin district in Diyala governorate to form a joint operations room between the army and the Peshmerga forces, based on agreements between the federal and Kurdistan governments.

Director of the media of the second axis of the Peshmerga, Heir Ahmed, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that a security meeting will be held in the coming period in Khanaqin between the military leaders and the Peshmerga to put the final touches to the formation of a joint operations room in the areas suffering from security vacuums, especially in Khanaqin, Jalawla and Qara Tabah within Disputed areas, confirming that the operations room will also be formed in Kirkuk, Nineveh and Salah al-Din, based on an agreement between the security authorities in Baghdad and Erbil and the Prime Minister’s honor.

He added that the operations room includes the implementation of the raids , and security operations against ISIS outposts and dens to end the threat and pockets of the organization.

He added that the Coalition forces will have a role in supporting and backing the operations room through technical and air support.
