Baghdad The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, on Sunday, the killing of a soldier and the injury of another during the “claw of lightning” operation in northern Iraq, against the “PKK” organization.

It said in a statement that an armed attack targeted a Turkish army base in northern Iraq on Sunday, killing a Turkish soldier and wounding another.

It stressed that the Turkish forces responded immediately to the sources of the attack that targeted the military base.

Turkey launched the “claw of lightning” and “claw of thunder” operations, on April 23, simultaneously, against the “PKK” in the areas of “Matina” and “Afshin-Basyan”, northern Iraq.
