The UN Secretary-General's Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pamela Patten, held a workshop with civil society organizations to prevent sexual violence in the coming stage.

The workshop included discussions on the situation of women in Iraq, especially in the liberated areas, where the role of international community organizations in highlighting victims and human rights and questioning those who are involved in sexual and family violence were discussed.

The workshop was attended by a large number of representatives of civil society organizations, human rights activists and a number of women lawyers.
