A virtual exercise to combat pollution in the Umm Qasr Navigational Canal

The General Company for Ports of Iraq conducted a hypothetical exercise to combat pollution in Umm Qasr Navigational Canal.

The Director-General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, stressed, according to a company statement, “the necessity of permanent preparation to follow up pollution in the navigational channels, as Al-Junaiba Seiba 2 of the Pollution and Environment Division, from berth 12 in the northern port of Umm Qasr, carried out a hypothetical exercise to combat pollution in the rotation basin within the navigational channel in Umm Qasr.

He explained, “This practice comes within the ongoing activities to maintain great readiness for any emergency that may occur,” noting that Al-Junaiba staff showed seriousness in implementing the virtual practice and were at a high level of responsibility in carrying out duties
