Baghdad Adviser to the Prime Minister for Financial Affairs, Mudher Muhammad Saleh, announced on Thursday that China consumes 44 percent of Iraqi oil exports.
Saleh said in a press interview, “China is the first market in Iraqi oil exports, and it alone consumes about 40-44% of Iraqi oil exports, with about 800,000 barrels of oil per day.”
He added, “a small part of those exports are the dues of oil service contracts for Chinese companies operating in Iraq, to which 100 thousand barrels per day were recently added, deposited in the bank account designated for the implementation of the projects of the cooperation framework agreement, which became truly effective last month.”
