Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met at his residence in Munich with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri.
Al-Abadi, according to a statement by his office, welcomed the development of relations with Egypt and its appreciation of its support for Iraq as President, government and people.
He called for “more economic and trade cooperation and exchange of interests and work with public and private sector companies and to identify the investment opportunities available in all Iraqi provinces.”
Al-Abadi stressed the need for continued coordination and communication between the two countries and cooperation in order to end the crisis in the region and to ensure its stability and not allow terrorism to return again, asking Shukri to convey his greetings to the Egyptian President and Prime Minister.
For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Abdel Fattah Al- Sisi on the victory and promotion of the unity of Iraq and its people, enhancing the role of the institutions and its pride in the importance of the basic role of Iraq in the region and resolving its crises.
