Al-Amiri Accuses Plasschaert Of Interfering In The Elections And Their Results, As If She Was The Head Of The High Commission

Baghdad The head of Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, accused the UN representative in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, of interfering in the elections and their results, as if she were the head of the High Commission.

Al-Amiri, during his meeting today with the Ambassador of the European Union in Iraq, Phil Variola, stressed :keenness on the democratic path is the main reason for our demands for fair elections and a peaceful transfer of power in Iraq.

Al-Amiri added: We have great cooperation and a good relationship with the United Nations mission, which we believe in its positive role, but our confidence is beginning to be shaken due to the violations committed by the current head of the mission, Jenin Plasschaert, who interferes in the elections and their results as if she is the head of the High Commission, but rather as a High Commissioner, and Iraq has not and will not accept any High delegate and must abide by her specific duties.

Al-Amiri made it clear that the sit-ins of the masses objecting to the falsification of the election results and the theft of their votes are the most peaceful and disciplined since 2003.

For his part, the Ambassador of the European Union in Iraq, Philae Variola, said that there is a good performance in managing the technical and technical issues of the elections, but this does not mean that there is no fraud.

He added: All appeals submitted must be considered in all seriousness, welcoming all legal options, stressing that the stability of Iraq is very important for European countries.
