Al-Araji at a meeting of the National Intelligence Coordination Authority: No tolerance for the security of the country and respect its laws

Baghdad National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji chaired, today, Tuesday, an expanded meeting of the National Intelligence Coordination Authority, in the presence of the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the Commander of Baghdad Operations, the Undersecretary of the Intelligence Service, and the Director of Security of the Popular Mobilization Authority.

A statement by the chancellery stated that during the meeting, they discussed the reality of security in the country and recent security incidents, as well as defining security responsibilities and holding the negligent accountable.

During the meeting, Al-Araji stressed the need to work under the guidance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, according to the principle of reward and punishment, and that the competent authorities should identify the perpetrators of security crimes that worry citizens and distort the security situation in Iraq, and that the security and intelligence services are highly prepared, to confront any violations possible, and for intelligence men to stay away from partisan and political agendas and loyalties, and be loyal to the homeland and the citizen.

According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Al-Araji set a period of time for the detection of those involved in security crimes, stressing that field officials should be held accountable in the partitions in which the violations occurred in the event that those involved were not revealed, stressing that: “There is no leniency in the security of the country and respect for its laws.

The meeting also witnessed an extensive discussion on defining the intelligence and security workspaces, where Al-Araji directed the Joint Operations Command to conduct a series of meetings with field commanders, to see the field perceptions from the field commanders themselves.
