Baghdad National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji affirmed with the French Ambassador in Baghdad Eric Chevalier, the need for the international community to cooperate to end and dismantle the Syrian Al-Hol camp.
The Chancellery said in a statement: “During the meeting, Al-Araji discussed strengthening relations between the two countries, and the latest developments in the political and security situation in the region.”
The meeting witnessed an emphasis on the importance of security and intelligence cooperation between Iraq and France in the field of combating terrorism and drugs, and the need for the international community to cooperate to end and dismantle the Syrian al-Hol camp.
Al-Araji expressed the Iraqi government’s endeavor to enhance security and stability in the region, cooperation and partnership with the international community, to achieve balanced relations with everyone, in a manner that serves the interests of the peoples and countries of the region and the world .
For his part, the French ambassador affirmed his country’s continued support for Iraq, in the security and military fields and the exchange of experiences.
