Baghdad The head of the National Sanad Gathering, Ahmed Al-Asadi, called for the popular mobilization to be kept away from political differences and conflicts, noting: “The biggest threat that can face the fatwa and the popular mobilization is to plunge them into disagreements and conflicts.”
Al-Asadi said in a statement: “This matter can empty them of their ideological and national content, which is what the enemies of Iraq wish for, as everyone who is keen on the popular mobilization must keep it away from political conflicts and disputes.”
He added, “The supreme religious authority spoke a lot about addressing the obvious defect in the state administration and providing the necessary services to people, and demanded reform and treat errors clearly, as it announced that,” noting that “after the accumulation of failure of those concerned to listen to the religious authority’s advice, the circle of despair and resentment widened, and angry crowds took the streets.
Al-Asadi explained, “After the issuance of the jihad fatwa, the number of volunteers was very large, and this number changed the psychological equation of the security forces by adding momentum and popular support, which was transformed to the popular mobilization .”
He continued, “The fatwa of the religious authority was not just a reaction to a major event, but is the result of a continuous follow-up by the religious authority to everything that is happening in Iraq and the region, and it saw that a great danger threatens Iraq, history, present and future, so the fatwa was and our great popular mobilization was.” Noting that “the popular mobilization is sacred from the sanctity of the fatwa on which it is formed, and the popular mobilization is sacred because it protects and defends the homeland, and defending the homeland is sacred.”
