Baghdad Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Al-Haddad directed the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee and a number of MPs to follow up on the issue of cut down trees and razing land by the Turkish army in the border areas.
A statement by his media office stated that, after his meeting today with the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, who in turn indicated that the operations of cutting trees and razing the lands that took place by the Turkish army are within the Turkish territory on the border strip, and in order to find out the truth of what is happening, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Al-Haddad directed the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee and a number of MPs to follow up on the issue of cutting and razing lands in the border areas of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to determine the facts on the ground, and to inform the Parliament of the developments of the case, which aroused great resentment among all Iraqis.
Al-Haddad stressed that the continuation of the military operations and the indiscriminate bombardment caused great damage to the civilian population and their properties, and affected Iraqi sovereignty and affected the relations between the two neighboring countries.
