Baghdad The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier, the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Paris and the political situation in Iraq and the region.
Al-Hakim stressed, during the meeting, according to a statement by his media office, the balance of Iraq in managing its foreign interests, and its openness to everyone according to its national interest, sovereignty and independence of its political decision.
He called on everyone to invest in the opportunities offered by Iraq in the areas of construction and services, stressing: “Iraq is the gateway to stability in the region and the world.”
He added: “The security challenge facing Iraq requires measures of a special kind that are commensurate with the nature of the challenge and the need to maintain security and military operations to eliminate pockets and hotbeds of terrorism.”
