Al-Halbousi discusses with his Iranian counterpart by phone the developments of the Palestinian issue

Baghdad Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Halbousi received today, Tuesday, a phone call from the head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, where the two parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, and wishes that God bless the two countries with security and stability.

The Media Office of the Speaker of Parliament stated that during the call, discussions were held about developments in the Palestinian issue and the necessity for efforts by Islamic parliaments to take a serious position regarding the situation in Palestine. The Federation of Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to discuss the use of parliamentary diplomatic capabilities to support the Palestinian cause, and put an immediate end to the attacks of the occupying entity against the Palestinian people.

Al-Halbousi stressed, during the call, Iraq’s firm position on the Palestinian issue, referring to the official and popular positions in Iraq to support the Palestinian people, as well as its support for the Palestinian cause in all Arab, Islamic and international forums.
