Baghdad Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi and his accompanying delegation met today, Thursday, French Minister of Armies, Florence Parly, where an official reception ceremony took place at the French Ministry of Defense building in Paris, followed by a session of talks.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing the support of the Iraqi government in the military field to enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi army, and the continuation of the efforts of the international coalition to support Iraq in technical, logistical and intelligence support to eliminate terrorism and extremism. The meeting also discussed the need to maintain the security of diplomatic missions in Iraq.

The French Minister of Armies affirmed her country’s full support for the sovereignty of Iraq and preservation of its stability, and its keenness to enhance means of strategic cooperation and to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and France.
