Baghdad The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, received a cable of congratulations from the Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly, Hammouda Al-Sabbagh, on the occasion of his re-election as Speaker of the House of Representatives in its fifth session.
The text of the telegram, according to a statement by Al-Halbousi’s office, stated: “I am pleased to extend to you, on my behalf and on behalf of my fellow members of the People’s Assembly, my warmest congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as Speaker of Parliament in Iraq, wishing you continued success .”
He added: “We in the People’s Assembly, as we congratulate you for the confidence of your fellow parliament members, affirm our keenness to continue developing and strengthening joint parliamentary work with the distinguished Iraqi parliament, for the good and interest of our two parliaments, our two countries, and our two brotherly peoples.”
