The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed the right of peaceful demonstrations that the constitution guarantees to practice within the framework of the law, calling on the demonstrators to cooperate with the security forces in preserving and protecting state institutions and public and private properties.

Al-Kadhimi stressed, according to a statement by his media office, the previously issued instructions repeatedly that the security forces should fully protect peaceful demonstrators, stressing the prevention of the use of gunfire and other illegal means in dealing with demonstrations.

The Commander-in-Chief called on the media, pages and social networking sites to avoid circulating and being drawn into false news, which aims to create a disturbing atmosphere that fuels chaos and harms civil peace.
