Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi valued the great role of journalists in evaluating the situation.
He congratulated the press family and the Journalists Syndicate on the anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi press, which is commemorated today, praising the great role of journalists in evaluating the situation.
Al-Kadhimi said during today’s cabinet session: “this week passed the anniversary of the blessed fatwa of His Eminence Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, which gave great support to achieve victory over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and the anniversary of the founding of the popular crowd, which had a prominent and great role with the rest of our armed forces in achieving victory and preserving the unity of the country.
He continued: “We visited Dhi Qar Governorate and opened many reluctant projects that were supposed to be completed years ago, but mismanagement and corruption caused their delay, referring to the opening of the Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital, the concrete bridge and the power station, and we laid the foundation stone for Nasiriyah Airport and a number of other projects in order to serving the people of the province and we will continue to do so with the rest of the provinces, and we have proven that we are a government of deeds, not a government of words.”
Al-Kadhimi stressed that he directed the Ministries to be close to citizens to provide services to our people and to work with all seriousness and with utmost energies to restore citizens’ confidence in the political process and elections.”
He continued, “We categorically reject the Ministries’ exploitation of the elections, as this government is professional, and whoever uses the ministries for electoral purposes will be subjected to investigation, and there are complaints about the procedures of some joints of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and suspicions of exploitation for electoral purposes at the expense of the livelihood of the poor through the support of some candidates regarding social welfare salaries, and we will verify the these complaints, stressing that we do not accept that the poor segment, their strength and their salaries turn into fat material and exploitation of the elections.
He continued, “we have great interest in providing the food basket that will be distributed to the poor, and it will contain more materials than the materials that are currently distributed, in terms of quantity and quality, and this is one of the priorities of the current government to alleviate the suffering of the poor and provide the requirements for a decent living for them, and government support must be directed, such as the food basket and other types of support to the class of the poor and the deserving, as what is currently taking place in the receipt of businessmen and senior employees and fake names for food supplies represents administrative failure and corruption.”
