Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi was informed of the wheat harvest operations during his inspection of a farmer in Al-Kut, in Wasit Governorate.

Al-Kadhimi blessed the efforts of the farmers in this farm and all the farms and orchards in Iraq that witness the harvest season.

He stressed during his meeting with a number of farmers that the government is going to develop the agricultural sector, promote agricultural industries and attract internal and external investments to this most important sector, in order to diversify Iraq’s resources without relying solely on oil, as part of the long-term economic reform launched by this government.

He directed the concerned authorities to overcome all obstacles facing the governorate’s farmers, and to support them with everything they need in order to increase the production of agricultural crops and diversify them to cover the needs of the market and achieve self-sufficiency for the citizen.

The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, arrived in Wasit Governorate this morning, Wednesday.
