Al-Kadhimi receives the Spanish Ambassador..and confirms the aspiration for more cooperation with Spain and the European Union countries

Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Juan Jose Escobar, on the occasion of the end of his duties.

Al-Kadhimi praised, according to a statement by his office, the level of Iraqi-Spanish relations and the efforts of the Ambassador during his tenure, stressing Iraq’s aspiration for more cooperation with Spain and the rest of the European Union member states in the fields of security, economy, and investment.

He expressed Iraq’s desire to open the doors for Spanish companies to participate and invest in the Iraqi economy, especially in the hospital management sector and training its staff.

For his part, the Spanish Ambassador affirmed his country’s government’s aspiration to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation and bilateral ties with Iraq, and its support for the Iraqi efforts in the fight against terrorism, and to work to support the stability of the region and consolidate the truce, and sustainable development in it.
