Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Sunday, the CEO of Siemens Energy, Christian Bruch , and the company’s accompanying delegation, in the presence of the German Chargé d’Affairs in Iraq.
Al-Kadhimi urged the company to overcome the delays to complete the first phase of the agreement with the Iraqi government, while he directed the Ministry of Electricity to speed up work procedures with the company to provide citizens with electrical energy.
During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of the cooperation roadmap signed between Iraq and the company, and ways to overcome the obstacles it faces in implementation.
The Prime Minister urged the company to overcome the delays facing the completion of the first phase of the agreement, and also directed the Ministry of Electricity to expedite work procedures with the company to secure the supply of electric power to the citizen in the short and medium term.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of ways to expand the work to include solar energy and other types of renewable energies. The company, on its part, promised to present practical proposals in this regard.
Bruch stressed: “Siemens is proud of the depth of its development partnership with Iraq, and its confidence that the various stages of implementation will witness an acceleration in completion, since the first phase is nearing completion.”
