Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi said: “Protecting the upcoming elections and providing fair opportunities for all is one of the tasks of the men of the interior.”

Al-Kadhimi said during his visit to the Ministry of Interior today: “We do not allow political pressure from partisan and social elements against you, and your duty is to protect everyone without any interference in your work.”

He added: “The heroes of the Ministry of Interior made great sacrifices in combating terrorism and crime, and that the man of the interior represents the law, and any attack on him represents an attack on the state.”

The Prime Minister continued: “We have an opportunity to work and correct mistakes, and when we indicate these mistakes, they are for the sake of action and advancement. We do not allow political pressures from partisan and social elements on you, and your duty is to protect everyone without any interference in your work.”

He addressed the men of the interior, saying: “You have big tasks and challenges in the face of terrorism and crime. And protecting the upcoming elections and providing fair opportunities for all is one of the tasks that you must do with the best.”

He recommended adherence to the rules of security work and respect for human rights, noting: “Building bridges of trust between people according to law and justice is one of the basic requirements in your work.”

He stressed: “The intelligence effort is very important in the work of the ministry, and it should be a priority.”
