Al-Mahlawi _Holding elections in the absence of the Sadrist movement is an imperfect democratic practice

Baghdad MP for the Progress Party, Adel Al-Mahlawi, considered the absence of the Sadrist movement, the elections that are hoped to be held next October, as an imperfect democratic practice.

He said in a press statement today, Wednesday, while we are looking forward to holding early elections in October in light of a safe atmosphere and results that truly express the will of the Iraqis, but we fear that this democratic process will be an imperfect practice and does not represent the real results of the Iraqi people due to the absence of a basic partner who has a mass base, represented by the Sadrist movement.

Based on the foregoing, he added, we call on the political forces to intensify their efforts to involve everyone in these elections, especially since the country’s situation does not bear more crises.
