Baghdad Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, discussed with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Muntasir Al-Zoubi, the latest political and security situation in Iraq and the region, as well as issues of common interest.
In a statement by his office, Al-Maliki pointed to the depth of relations between Iraq and Jordan, and the importance of developing them to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, stressing the necessity and importance of the upcoming elections and holding them on time after creating the necessary security environment for their success.
He said: We are keen that the elections be successful, far from cases of fraud, and protected from uncontrolled weapons and the influence of international agendas.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Zoubi clarified Jordan’s firm position in working on the stability and territorial integrity of Iraq, indicating Jordan’s desire to activate cooperation in various fields. The Ambassador conveyed the appreciation of the Hashemite leadership to Mr. Al-Maliki for his supportive role for all national and fateful issues.
