Baghdad Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed the need to hold the elections on the specified date, with the preparation of requirements and conditions for their success, foremost of which is electoral security, so that their results express the aspirations and desires of citizens.

During his meeting in his office today, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hickey, on the occasion of the end of his duties as his country’s Ambassador in Baghdad, Al-Maliki expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the British Ambassador during his tenure in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries and developing bilateral relations in a way that achieved important and real cooperation on all levels, wishing him success in his new duties, and the latest developments on the security and political levels were also discussed.
