Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, conducted a field tour this evening, Sunday, to the Imam Abu Hanifa Al-Nu’man Mosque and the Iraqi Jurisprudence Assembly, and was received by Sheikh Ahmed Hassan Al-Taha, head of the Assembly, members of the Supreme Authority of the Assembly, and a group of religious scholars and honorable sheikhs.
Al-Mandlawi said, according to a statement from his office, that the current stage that the region is experiencing and the dangers that accompany it, emphasize the need to work to unify the Islamic discourse to confront challenges, and the importance of formulating a transitional speech that is consistent with the requirements of Islamic national security to protect sanctities and preserve the sovereignty of homelands, praising at the same time the contributions of the Assembly in closing ranks and rejecting extremist and sectarian ideas and hate speech and enhancing security and stability in the country.
For his part, the head of the Fiqh Counc
il praised the efforts of the acting head of the council in approving laws that preserve societal and Islamic values, such as the prostitution law. The shrine of Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu’man was also visited, and the most important needs and most prominent problems facing those in charge of the place were discussed.
