Najaf The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, thanked the national team players for their victory in the Gulf 25 Championship.
Al-Sadr said during recieving the national team delegation with the coaching staff and the governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, in Al-Hanana, Najaf: Your victory brought joy and happiness to our hearts, so thank you for your efforts. He added, “Our greatest joy is your qualification for the World Cup.”
He added, “Do not be influenced by politics and politicians, as you represent the country and the people.”
At the end of the meeting, Al-Sadr presented copies of the Qur’an as a gift to the players of the national team and the coaching staff.
