Al-Sadr Tweets: The Security Council’s Support For The Election Results Reflects A Beautiful Picture Of Iraqi Democracy

Najaf The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, said, “The Security Council’s support for the results of the Iraqi elections reflects a beautiful impression of Iraqi democracy on the one hand and gives hope for the acquiescence of the parties claiming fraud in that democratic process on the other hand.”

Al-Sadr said in a tweet, “The Security Council’s support for the results of the Iraqi elections and the adoption of their integrity, but rather the statement that they exceeded their predecessors technically, reflects a beautiful image of Iraqi democracy on the one hand, and gives hope for the acquiescence of the parties claiming fraud in that democratic process on the other hand.

He added, “Dragging the country into chaos and destabilizing civil peace due to their dissatisfaction with their electoral results is a shameful matter that increases the complexity of the political scene and the security situation, but rather gives a negative perception of them, and this is what should not be increased and repeated. Hence, there should be no pressure on the Independent High Electoral Commission or the work of the judiciary and the Federal Court or interfering with its work.. rather, a calm atmosphere must be created for the commission to complete its procedures regarding appeals or the like.

He continued, “Let everyone know that being satisfied with the electronic results will bring security and stability to Iraq and its people, and it is qualified to do so
