Al-Salihi warns the government of an explosion of popular anger in Kirkuk due to the marginalization and neglect of the governorate and the failure to support its service file

Kirkuk Member of Parliament for Kirkuk governorate, Arshad Al-Salihi, warned of an explosion of popular anger in Kirkuk due to the intensification of the crisis of lack of services, the increase in the hours of power cuts and the high prices of energy of private generators, once again calling for the government to intervene urgently and hold a cabinet session in Kirkuk.

He said in a statement issued by him, in light of the clear and obvious service deterioration in the governorate of Kirkuk, the frequent and continuous cuts of electricity and the occurrence of a large accumulation of waste as a result of the government’s continued marginalization of the governorate and the failure to support the Kirkuk administration with its service file, and not granting its fair entitlement to processing through the national network, the rise in one ampere of private generators, which generated a state of outrage among the city’s residents in light of the challenge of the Corona virus and its difficult economic repercussions.

He added: As we renew our demand from the Prime Minister to intervene urgently and immediately to save Kirkuk and hold a Cabinet session in it and to speed up increasing its share of the national network by 5% of the national production and supplying subsidized kerosene to 30 liters per KV during the summer months, we warn that continuing to marginalize the governorate and not supporting it with its share of petrodollars, solving the waste file and supplying electricity will lead to an explosion of popular anger and the outbreak of massive demonstrations in which all the components of this productive governorate, whose oil resources go to companies in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and Jordanian lands, free of charge without any return.

Al-Salihi continued: The administration of Kirkuk and its representatives in the House of Representatives are working within the framework of cooperation and joint work regarding the governorate services, and that our meetings are continuing and ongoing with the Minister of State for Parliament Affairs Hiyam Nemat Mahmoud and the relevant ministries to find possible solutions that contribute to alleviating the service crisis that Kirkuk suffers from. But the crisis and conditions are getting worse day by day, which requires urgent government intervention to support the stability and security of Kirkuk and serve its citizens.
