Al-Shammari: The Inclusion Of The Armed Factions Of The PMF Needs Political And Governmental Steps

– Head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, confirmed that: The inclusion of armed factions to the popular mobilization forces needs political and governmental steps.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that it is difficult for the armed factions to respond fully to al-Sadr’s call, since they still consider Saraya al-Salam as a large military force despite their involvement in the security establishment, but they consider them affiliated with al-Sadr and may push the factions not to respond to his demands.

Al-Shammari added that: Even what was issued on the issue of dissolving a formation of the Hezbollah Brigades does not rise to the call of al-Sadr, because he calls on the very well-known factions, such as the Kata’ib forces as a military organization, as well as Asa’ib and others, calling them directly for the solution.

He considered the dissolution of one of the factions of the Hezbollah Brigades as another embarrassed response to pressure on al-Sadr to include the Peshmerga by calling for the dissolution of the factions.

Al-Shammari explained that: adding new numbers to the Popular Mobilization that are not registered within the state need job grades and salaries, and will the political blocs of the authority agree or not, and thus fall within the framework of the political debate.

He considered the issue as part of the mutual steps, and it could not be implemented except by a decision from the state to include the factions in the PMF and deal with their weapons.
