The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, announced: "The government has submitted appeals against some of the items added to the budget, and will present a second round of legal appeals."

Al-Sudani said in a speech at the Council of Ministers meeting today, Tuesday: "Some items added to the budget are inconsistent with economic reform."

He added: "The accuracy of implementation will be the main criterion for the disbursement of funds, and the disbursement of funds in the budget must be regulated fairly without discrimination."
