Al-Sudani assures the King of Jordan Iraq’s keenness to continue cooperation in various fields

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, met today, Monday, with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, during his official visit to the capital, Amman, which he arrived earlier today.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement that during the meeting, which was attended by the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and emphasized the need to continue coordination and consultation between Iraq and Jordan, on various issues of common interest, in a manner that achieves their interests and serves Arab issues.

The statement added that the two sides discussed the latest regional developments, especially the Palestinian issue, the crises in the region, and the efforts made in the war on terrorism and confronting extremism, within a comprehensive approach based on cooperation and high coordination between the two countries.

After the meeting, extensive bilateral talks were held between the Prime Minister and the Jordanian monarch at Basman Al-Zaher Palace, on a number of common files and ways to enhance mutual cooperation in accordance with the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries .

The round of talks was attended by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office Ihsan Al-Awadi, and Anbar Governor Ali Farhan. On the Jordanian side, the Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, and the Director of the Jordanian King’s Office, Jaafar Hassan, attended the meeting.

Al-Sudani affirmed, according to the statmante, Iraq’s keenness to maintain the distinguished relationship with Jordan, and stressed the continuation of cooperation between the two countries in various fields for the interest of the two brotherly peoples, and in a manner that would be reflected in the region’s security, stability and prosperity.

For his part, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein wished the Prime Minister success in his duties, stressing his pride in the level of the strong brotherly relations that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples. He also affirmed Jordan’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially political and economic.

The Jordanian monarch pointed to the importance of Iraq’s role in its Arab and regional surroundings, stressing that Iraq’s security is a fundamental pillar of the region’s security and stability.
