An Attempt To Infiltrate Of Syrians Thwarted After Clashing With Them On Iraqi-Syrian Border

Baghdad The Security Media Cell announced that the Border Guards thwarted an attempt to infiltrate Syrians after clashing with them on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

It said in a statement that through field follow-up and intensification of intelligence efforts, a force within the sector of the third company in the third regiment in the 19th Border Guard Brigade was able to monitor a group of 15 people trying to cross the border from the Syrian side to Iraqi territory, where they were treated, and there was an exchange of fire and a clash with them. They fled and retreated to Syrian territory.

It explained that a security force searched the border strip and found the body of one of these infiltrators, a Syrian national. The body was kept by the competent authorities.
