An earthquake magnitude 5 degrees strikes northern Iran

Baghdad An earthquake measuring 5 degrees on the Richter scale of 9 degrees rocked, today, Saturday, areas near the Caspian Sea in northern Iran.

IRNA reported that: The Seismological Center of Tehran University indicated that the earthquake occurred at the confluence of the eastern longitude 49:44 and the northern latitude: 41:62 degrees, and at a depth of 10 km from the surface of the earth.

It added, according to the center, the earthquake was 388 km away from the city of Ardabil, northwest, and 477 km from Tabriz, the center of East Azerbaijan Province.
