Baghdad The Specialist in Economic Affairs, Dhurgham Muhammad Ali, stressed that only the availability of local and international political will can return Iraq’s smuggled money.
Ali said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that “the conference to restore the looted funds will not be of value if there is no real local political will to recover the money and an international will represented by the United States of America, which controls its grip on the global political and economic decision and its seriousness in returning Iraqi looted money.”
He indicated, “Most of the current politicians and their former culprits are the ones who contributed to the looting of the country, and it is unlikely that they will be a positive element in returning it.” The United States, which is the first actor in the global economic system, and in which more than half of the world’s economy falls within the dollar’s sphere of influence.”
